Water Wells for Clean Water
- Over the last 5 years we have installed over 200 water wells (a.k.a Tube wells) to provide clean water to more that 12,000 rural population in Barisal, Cox’s bazar, Chittagong. These people would have to carry pitcher full of drinking water from 500-1000 meter away twice every day, which was quite tedious for them. Each water well was installed at a location where at least 50 to 70 people who previously did not have easy access to clean water can benefit from them.
A committee have been formed for each well. Members of the committee come from the beneficiary families. This committee will collect tiny amount of fund from the beneficiary families when a repair is needed. Thus, the water well can be sustained for a very long time.
